1952 - Allen with baby Sandy
Our father, Allen, as a new father with Sandy as an infant on his shoulder. Could have been in SoCal but more likely in Oak Ridge Tennessee. No idea what the baby is thinking but it looks pretty precarious to me.
Father with a baby. He was not really comfortable holding mine. But experience clicked in and I remember (what I thought) were big hands handlig a little person. This shows where he learned infant mystery. Can't really decide what to do with her but those arms have her securely. I think that funny smaile shows real pride and pleasure.
That house was in Duarty, California. He was working in Azusa, California. (AeroJet) We were getting ready to leave for Boston to get a new car; I would NOT drive that old Chrysler cross-country in the middle of the summer with a 3 month-old baby in the car!
